SCMgoes Cargo Partner 2022

On the 2nd of November 2022, 20 SCM Master students from first and third semester had the opportunity to visit the cargo-partner headquarters as well as their newly built wooden-warehouse at Fischamend. cargo-partner is a Full-Service Logistics Provider with a broad portfolio of services and major competences in air,- sea,- and road transport, warehousing as well as supply chain optimization and information technologies. With its 4000 employees, the company operates in more than 40 different countries all over the world.

After a warm welcome at their headquarters in Fischamend, Bettina Mathis, Talent Acquisition Partner at cargo-partner, introduced the company with a company presentation including their corporate culture, values and operating fields. The event continued at their unique wooden-built warehouse where Krisztián Abzalov, National Product Manager Contract Logistics, gave us a tour through cargo-partners’ state of the art warehouse. During an interesting and insightful tour students were able to ask many questions regarding the operations and day-to-day business at the warehouse.

Subsequently, the students had the chance to learn more about career prospects at cargo-partner. Michael Lehner and Marcel Potvorszki, two alumni of the Supply Chain Management Master programme at WU, shared their career path and experience of working in different departments at the company. In the end of the event, an informal get-together was organised including a buffet with snacks and drinks provided by cargo-partner where students were able to ask further questions about the company, career possibilities and further information.

The SCM Network would like to thank cargo-partner and especially Bettina Mathis, Krisztián Abzalov, Michael Lehner and Marcel Potvorszki for this great event.
