On October 11th 2019, cargo-partner hosted 30 SCM students at their headquarters in Vienna. Providing air, sea and land transport as well as warehousing and supply chain solutions, cargo-partner operates on an international level. Cargo-partner is a highly appreciated partner organization of the SCM Network and has acted as the network’s main sponsor since 2016.
The students were welcomed by Ina Henke, who guided through the visit as the HR representative. After an introduction to the company, two alumni from the WU SCM Master’s program presented their career paths and current positions at the company, providing first-hand experience and answers to many questions. This was followed by an introduction into Green Logistics by Stefan Frisch, who not only engaged in an interactive discussion with the students about the topic in general but also provided valuable insights into the current sustainability projects at the company. Marcel Potvorszki (another WU SCM alumnus) then introduced the students to SPOTworx, an innovative platform for information sharing along the supply chain. To give the students ample opportunities for networking, more cargo-partner supply chain experts joined the event for a relaxed lunch. The event was rounded up by a tour of the iLogistics Center, a state-of-the-art warehouse finished in the summer of 2018, given by Krisztian Abzalov.
The first event of the new semester provided the students with expert insights into fast-growing fields like green logistics and information sharing in supply chain management, while also giving them the opportunity to connect with current employees and seeing a modern warehouse in operation.
The SCM Network would like to thank cargo-partner for the interesting and interactive event.
