On December 19th, 2017, 21 students and alumni of the Supply Chain Management Network Vienna and 4 cargo-partner colleagues met for a Mapathon at WU Campus.
We supported the work of the Red Cross in an area of Myanmar which is vulnerable to natural disasters, by creating the missing map of the city of Kyonmange in OpenStreetMap based on aerial photography. In the beginning, only 18% of the area were mapped, in the end we achieved a coverage of >83%! Our fastest mapper was Federica from SCM Master Batch 2017.
Just a few days before Christmas, this event was a great opportunity to volunteer and support a good cause, while at the same time enjoying a fun evening and networking opportunities with colleagues from cargo-partner.
