The Alumni Day has found a fixed spot in the curriculum of the SCM Network. Taking place now already for the third time, Alumni Day 2018 reached again a new participant record with 120 tickets sold. Announcing to have no tickets left earlier than ever before, it shows that the event creates immense interest and joy among our awesome group of alumni and students.
In the fascinating rooms of the Campus’ Learning Center, Prof. Wakolbinger kicked off the day by presenting the Master’s development over the past few years. Carolin Bleyl-Vacha (Batch 2012) continued with her presentation on company growth as a challenge at iSi Automotive, followed by Max Hertz-Kleptow (Batch 2011) who shared his major learnings during his interesting young career at Cargill.
In order to visualize how well the SCM Network is developing, the former- (Laura Hernandez) and the current president (Sandra Graf) looked back to another amazing Network year, making the audience curious about what to come in the upcoming period.
The day went on with an entertaining presentation held by David Matern (Batch 2012) on the toolkit Relex Solutions uses to enhance the supply chain performance during promotions.
As a fourth and last alumni speaker, Loes Albers (Batch 2013) presented her Demand Planning journey at KraftHeinz.
With this year’s keynote speech, the Alumni Day reached another fantastic milestone. For the first time ever, we were able to convince a CEO attending our event. Dr. Clemens Först, who is leading the Rail Cargo Group, shared insights about his career path and presented (future) challenges of the railway logistics market. An extensive Q&A confirmed the Networkers’ interest in Clemens’ presentation. We are already curious when the first SCM alumni will be present as CEO.
Before heading to the obligatory dinner, the event’s participants enjoyed a glass of high quality white wine in the sun in front of our beautiful campus, giving us another great opportunity for networking. The toast of course did not mark the end of an amazing day. A delicious three course buffet was served in the Mensa, reminding many alumni of the good old times.
Since SCM Networkers do not only perform well in the lecture halls but also when it comes to partying, all Alumni Day participants were granted free entrance to the Campus Fest to show their dancing skills. A few hours and drinks later, people went home for their well-deserved rest.
The SCM Network wants to thank our alumni speakers, keynote speaker, the institutes and sponsors for their passion and generosity to make this day so special. Last but not least, a big thank you to you, Networkers! This is your day and the SCM Network is extremely proud that you made this day again so memorable! We look forward to seeing you next year!
