On the 3rd of May 25 SCM students had the opportunity to visit Kühne+Nagel’s site at Himberg. Kühne+Nagel is a worldwide operating logistics provider in the fields of contract logistics and integrated logistics, seafreight, airfreight and overland transportation.
After a warm welcome with food and drinks, Markus Aminger, National Manager Contract Logistics, held an interesting presentation about Kühne+Nagel. Additionally, information was given on Kühne+Nagel’s innovations in the field of digitalisation such as the E-Business solution myKN or their use of data for anticipations. Directly afterwards, a practical example about a greenfield warehouse in Slovenia for a pharmaceutical company was presented by Bulut Yilmaz. Furthermore, the planning steps and processes which need to be taken into account when calculating a tender were explained. To give a further insight and demonstrate how a tender is calculated, Mister Aminger presented and computed a case study together with the participating students. In the end, Miss Praschinger showed the students around the shared warehouse, which allowed them to get a deeper insight into Kühne+Nagel’s processes.
We thank Markus Aminger, Bulut Yilmaz and Sabine Praschinger for the interesting visit at Kühne+Nagel.
