A total of 35 members of the SCM Network traveled to Bratislava, Slovakia, on Friday April 8th, 2016 to go on a guided tour through the production halls of Volkswagen. It is one of Slovakia’s biggest employers and the country’s largest exporter.
During the tour the participants were not only informed about the history and the products constructed in the factory but they also got valuable insight into the complexity of the production process. The participants could follow the whole car body manufacturing process containing state-of-the-art methods such as the use of robots, just-in-time production and advanced logistics technology.
The day was rounded off by a nice typical Slovakian dinner at one of Bratislava´s most famous restaurants.
